traffic
We are working closely with the City of Hattiesburg to ensure runners, volunteers and motorists are safe throughout the race. For this reason, road closures will exist from approximately 6 a.m. until Noon on Saturday, April 5, in Downtown Hattiesburg, The Oaks, Parkhaven, Longleaf Heights and around The University of Southern Mississippi.

Throughout the city, traffic will continue to flow with the help of law enforcement personnel and volunteers. However, the following streets will be closed for the majority of the event:
- Hardy Street (from McLeod Street to West Pine Street/West Front Street)
- West Pine Street, southbound lanes (from 6th Avenue to Hardy Street) - will open at 10 a.m.
- Forrest Street (from Green Street to W Front Street)
- Front Street (from Hardy Street to Main Street)
- Main Street (from McLeod/Jackson Street to Buschman Street)
- Access to South 17th Avenue from Hardy Street
- Access to South 19th Avenue from Hardy Street

The eastbound lane of Hardy Street between South 17th Avenue and South 19th Avenue will experience a lane shift.

Detour routes are established with signage where necessary, and some closures will open once all runners are through the intersection.
Long stretches of the race will take place on:
- Adeline Street
- Mamie Street
- Concart Street
- S 11th Avenue
- 21st Avenue
- The Longleaf Trace

Motorists are asked to drive cautiously along the racecourse where runners and volunteers are present. They are also encouraged to allow for extra travel time or to make an alternate route if needed.
If you are trying to access specific shops in and around downtown, a few key roads for access will be back open by midmorning (Main Street at 8 a.m. and West Pine Street at 10 a.m.).

To help navigate before these times, you can access downtown by taking the following routes:
- Hwy 42 Bypass from Hwy 49 to Main Street
- Hwy 49 to West 7th Street to Main Street or Mobile Street
- River Avenue to Buschman to Mobile Street
